Alandsislands (Ahvenanmaa)

Group in the north of the Botanic Gulf. (Eastsea between Sweden and Finland)
It covers about 6500 islands and covers together a total of 1505km² of land.
About 100 islands are populated. The islands are made in the latest glacer episode, and the basic almost only exist outta Granit. Because of the sea the climat on the islands is less agresive as Finland. Mariehamn, the most important haven of the group of islands, is also in the Colder period of the year accesable with icebreakers. The population lives from tourism, agriculture and shipping. They basicly speak the swedish language. The islands would already have had a population in the far past. (prehistoric artifacts)

Greetz outta the colder part of europe...
